Underwriting on KGLT-FM

Underwriting on KGLT-FM is a partnership with one of Montana’s most trusted and adventurous community radio stations. As a noncommercial, listener-supported station, KGLT connects your business or organization with an engaged audience that values local culture, creativity, and independence.

Our airwaves are a valuable way to reach KGLT listeners – a dedicated and loyal audience.

Underwriting messages are brief, FCC-compliant acknowledgments of support that identify your business or organization without advertising language. This is recognition — not advertising — and it works.

Types of Underwriting?

General Underwriting – one underwriting message per day, rotating 6am – 9pm.
Program Underwriting – one underwriting message, at a set time/program.
Event Underwriting – short-term underwriting messages for two+ weeks.

Types of Underwriting on KGLT

Thoughtfully scheduled throughout the day. Copy crafted and approved by KGLT staff for FCC compliance Underwriting directly supports KGLT’s music, DJs, and independent voice.

General Underwriting
This underwriting sponsorship provides one message per day, rotating between 6am – 9pm.   

Program Underwriting
This underwriting sponsorship provides one message at a set time/program. As little as one one mention per week is available.

Event Underwriting – short-term underwriting messages over 2 week time that includes a recorded :25-second message and option for 9pm – 12am messages.

What an Underwriting Message Can Include 

KGLT staff will help craft your message to ensure compliance and clarity. Messages should be 30-35 words in length, and include the following:

✔ Business or organization name 
✔ Location 
✔ Neutral description of products or services 
✔ Mission or years in operation 
✔ Website or phone number (no calls to action) 
An established slogan may be included if factual and non-promotional. 

What Underwriting Cannot Include (FCC Rules):

✖ Prices, discounts, or special offers 
✖ Calls to action or urgency 
✖ Comparative or qualitative claims
