Youth Workshops

KGLT Kids 2025 :
Songwriting & DJ/Podcast Workshops

Youth songwriting, radio broadcasting, and podcasting classes for kids, on the campus of Montana State University and beyond.

About the program

KGLT Kids is a hands-on youth education program that uses music, sound, and radio as tools for creativity, learning, and community connection. Through DJ and songwriting workshops, participants learn to mix music, write lyrics, build simple audio equipment, and record original work while exploring the science of sound and waves in a fun and accessible way. Beyond the studio, KGLT Kids partners with local organizations such as Red Ants Pants, YMCA, Big Sky Arts Council, and Greater Gallatin United Way to bring these experiences into the community. KGLT Kids expands access to the arts and STEM learning for kids who might not otherwise have these opportunities. By blending creative expression with technical skills and strong local partnerships, KGLT Kids helps kids find their voice while strengthening ties between youth, radio, and the wider Gallatin Valley.
